Capturing a Still Image or Movie Clip
from the Playback Picture
While you are playing back a tape you
can capture the picture as a still image or
as a movie clip on the memory card. The
size of the still image will be IS 640x480]
and cannot be changed.
Select the quality of the still image with
the procedure below. Refer to Selecting
the Size of Movie Clips on the Memory
Card (_CL_ 5 3) to select the size of the
movie clip.

mode, press _.

Press _ again to stop the
recording.
Automatic Focus Priority
When the focus priority is activated, the
camcorder records a still image only after
the focus has been adjusted
automatically. When the mode switch is
set to I_, you can also select the AF
(autofocus) frame.

Depending on the shooting conditions, one
or more AF frames out of the nine frames
available are automatically selected and
the focus is fixed on them.
A single focusing frame appears in the
center of the screen and the focus is
automatically fixed on the center AF frame.
This is convenient for making sure the
focus is exactly where you want it.
Select this option if you wish to record a
still image as soon as you press _.
The focus priority cannot be turned off
when the mode switch is set to I_.
