Supplement A for 00532-90010^ ,
ERRATA
d. Set Oscilloscope for a VERTICAL SENSITIVITY of 0.02 V/CM (AC) and
(Cont.)
HORIZONTAL SENSITIVITY of 1 V/CM(DC).
e. Set Transfer Oscillator to 200 MHz and adjust Counter to read frequency.
f. Before connecting Microwave Amplifier to Mixer, adjust power level of Microwave
Amplifier to about 250 mW. Connect a 20 dB attenuator to the output of the
Microwave Amplifier and monitor the output with the Thermistor Mount and Power
Meter. Set Microwave Amplifier output level for a 2. 5 mW reading on the Power
Meter (250 mW output).
g. Disconnect Power Meter and attenuator and connect Microwave Amplifier to
11517A Mixer through a BNC-to-type N adapter.
h. For convenient Oscilloscope display, adjust Oscilloscope VERTICAL SENSITIVITY and
the Attenuators so that the difference frequency "birdie" and the Wavemeter notch or
hump are clearly visible.
h. Set K532A to 18.0 GHz (28.0 GHz for R532A) and adjust Transfer Oscillator so that
difference frequency is centered on Wavemeter notch.
i. Read the Electronic Counter. The K532A should be within ±0.11% (0.12% for R532A).
To determine percent error, subtract 200 MHz from counter reading (MHz) and
divide by 2. For example, if the counter reads 200. 220, the percent error is 0. 220
divided by 2 or 0.11%.
j. Repeat above procedure every 200 MHz.
k. Set Sweep Oscillator to sweep entire band of 532A.
m. Tune 532A across band. The notch travel across frequency range should cause
at least a 1 dB dip depth all the way across.
