Sort your laundry into laundry types as follows, separating
coloureds from whites.:
Cotton/linen — Whites
Cotton/linen — Coloureds
Easy-care fabrics

Woollens
@ Woollens must be labelled with the woolmark and additionally
marked "will not felt", "non-felting", or "machine-washable".
M@ Coloureds and whites should never be washed together, whites
will turn grey.
New dark coloured laundry will often state "wash separately".
This type of garment will often have surplus colour which may be
transferred to lighter fabrics during washing. Always wash such
items on their own for the first few washes.
@ You may also see the following labels. They are not common in
the UK, but are widely used in garments manufactured in the rest
of Europe.
White cotton articles with special finishes
White nylon and white polyester cotton
This label may be found in a variety of
garments - the articles should be laundered Go
on the wool programme.
