@ Basic operation procedure
1. Press the POWER
key to ON.
® The indicator lights up and the unit enters operation
mode.
® Pressing the key again switches the power OFF.
@ The available
audio-component
inputs are TAPE2,
TAPE1, AUX, TUNER, PHONO, and CD.
@ The available video-component
inputs are VIDEOS,
VIDEO2, VIDEO1, DBS/TV, AV AUX and VDP.

DIRECT key is ON.

@ How to listen through headphones
1. Insert the headphone plug into the PHONES
jack.
2. Press the FRONT SPEAKERS key to OFF.
3. When sub-woofers and/or Surround speakers are used,
switch OFF the power of the sub-woofers and/or press
the BYPASS key to activate the Bypass mode.

DIRECT key
When the SOURCE
DIRECT key is pressed to ON (so that
the indicator
above
it lights) in the
Bypass
mode,
the
sound signal bypasses the tone control (BASS, TREBLE)
and the balance circuitry.
In this case,
the
tone
cannot
be adjusted,
but a flat
frequency response can be obtained.
Note:
The SOURCE
DIRECT
function is canceled
automatically when
one of the Surround modes is selected.
