Product usage Before first use • Clean the unit before first use (refer to the CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE section). • The unit may emit a small amount of smoke or faint odour when first using it. This is normal for new units and will wear off with regular use. If desired, perform a few empty cycles to remove any lingering odour and smoke. - Page 17 Product usage NOTE: If the toaster is not plugged in and turned on at the mains socket, the toasting lever will not engage. • The cancel indicator will light up when the unit is toasting the bread. • When toasting frozen bread, press and the defrost indicator will come on.
