You can locate the desired programme and play it back
automatically by designating the number of its index
signal. Up to the 15th index signal from the present posi-
tion on the tape can be located.

Insert a cassette that has index signals marked.

Press the INDEX button once. The BB and - indi-
cators will blink alternately, and the index number 0
is displayed.

Press the INDEX button several times until the index

To scan the previous programmes,
press the <q

The pe and >> indicators will blink simultaneously
and the tape will be rewound or rapidly advanced to
the next index signal marked.
Whenever an index signal is detected, the tape will
be played back for approximately 10 seconds, and
then rewound or rapidly advanced to the next index
signal.
Every time an index signal is detected and playback
begins, the displayed index number increases.
At the desired programme,
press the the pm PLAY
button.
Normal playback of that programme will be-
gin.
For
instance,
to locate
the second
programme
ahead,
two
index
signals
should
be detected,
so
press the INDEX button until " 2 " is displayed. On
the other hand, to locate the second programme be-
hind, three signals should be detected, so piess the
button until
3" is displayed.

The tape will be rewound or rapidly advanced

ti me an index signal is detected, the displayed
index
number will decrease. When the number reachesO, play
back of your desired programme will begin.
