and drill approx. 25 — 30 mm deep so that the
anchors can be inserted.
+ Insert the anchors (for cement or brick).
+ Attach the base plate of the smoke alarm using
the two screws supplied.

8. Startup and Operation
The smoke alarm system is functional as soon as
batteries are inserted. If combustion by-products
are detected in the air, a loud alarm tone sounds.
The alarm stops as soon as the air is free of smoke.
Decibel level in alarm mode: min. 85 dB(A).
+ Insert the batteries.
+ Attach the smoke alarm to the base plate, which
is mounted on the ceiling, by guiding the snap-in
hooks into the intended openings and rotating
the smoke alarm clockwise.
e Check that the smoke alarm is securely attached
to the base plate.
e Please note that the smoke alarm is outfitted
with a safety catch that prevents you from
attaching it to the base plate if no battery has
been inserted.
If the smoke alarm does not click cleanly
into place on the base plate, ensure that the
battery is inserted properly.
9. Care and Maintenance
« Test:
Press the test button on the smoke alarm for
approx. 5 seconds until the alarm sounds. The
alarm sounds if the electronics, sensor, horn and
battery are all functioning properly. If no alarm
sounds, the battery may be dead.
+ Itis recommended to test the device on
a weekly basis in order to ensure that it
functions properly.
Each time the batteries are replaced, you
must use the test button to check that the
smoke alarm is functioning properly.
If the smoke alarm does not respond to the
test even with a new battery, contact the
manufacturer.

* Replacing the batteries
The operating life of a 9 volt battery in this smoke
alarm is about one year. The smoke alarm indicates
that the battery is dead by emitting an acoustic
signal (every 60 sec.).
+ Recommended batteries
For example:
DC9V Alkaline or Carbon Zinc battery
