Thank you
for
purchasing
the
Roland
MCB-3. The
MCB-3
is
a
Connector Box
designed
exclusively
for
use
with
the
SCP-55 Sound Canvas
PC
Card.
By
connecting
the
MCB-3
to
your SCP-55, you can connect
a
microphone and
an audio device
to
record
audio
signals.
And
you can
also
connect
external
MIDi
devices such
as a
MIDI
keyboard.
IMPORTANT NOTES
PLACEMENT
Do
not subject the
unit to
temperature extremes
(e.g.,
direct sunlight
in
an enclosed
vehicle).
Avoid
using or
storing the unit
in
dusty or
humid
areas, or areas that
are subject to
high
levels
of vibration.
Do
not
expose
the
unit
to
temperature extremes
or
install
it
near devices
that
radiate heat. Direct sunlight
in
an enclosed
vehicle
can
deform
or
discolor the
unit.
MAINTENANCE
For
everyday
cleaning
wipe
the
unit
with
a
soft,
dry
cloth
or
one
that
has
been
slightly
dampened
with
water.
To remove
stubborn
dirt,
use
a mild,
non-abra-
sive detergent.
Afterwards,
be
sure
to
wipe
the
unit
thoroughly with
a
soft,
dry
cloth.
Never
use
benzene,
thinners,
alcohol
or
solvents of
any
kind,
to
avoid
the
possibility
of
discoloration
and/or deformation.
ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS
Protect
the
unit
from
strong impact.
Do
not
allow objects
or
liquids
of
any
kind
to
pene-
trate
the
unit.
In
the
event
of
such an occurrence,
dis-
continue use immediately. Contact
qualified service
personnel
as
soon
as
possible.
Should
a
malfunction
occur,
or
if
you
suspect
there
is
a
problem, discontinue use
tnvnediately.
Contact
qualified
service
personnel
as
soon
as possible.
To
avoid
the
risk
of
electric
shock,
do
not
open
the
unit.

Connector
This
connector
transmits
MIDI
messages from
the
computer.
Use
a
MIDI
cable
to
connect
to
a
MIDI
device
(e.g.,
sound
module).

MIDI
IN
Connector
This
connector
receives
MIDI
messages from
an
external
MIDI
device.
Use
a
MIDI
cable
to
connect
to
a
MIDI
device
(e.g.,
MID!
key-
board).
3.
PHONES
Jack
(stereo miniature type)
This jack
is
the
same
as the
PHONES
jack
on
the
audio output connector provided
with the
SCP-55.
Connect
to
an
audio reproduction
device
or
headphones.
4.
LINE
IN
Jack
(stereo miniature type)
Audio
signals
are input
to
this
jack.
Use
audio
cables to
connect
to
audio devices
(e.g.,
CD
Player).
5.
MIC
Jack (mono
miniature
type)
Connect
the supplied
microphone.
