● Park the STIHL machine on a flat
surface.
● Unscrew wing nut (1) and remove
together with washer (2) and cover (3).
● Remove filter insert (4) from cover (3).
● Immerse filter insert (4) in fresh engine
oil before installing – squeeze out
excess engine oil.
● Fill oil bath air filter housing (5) with
engine oil to the marking (6) (oil
capacity: 60 ml).
● Assemble the oil bath air filter in reverse
order.

6.4 Choke lever

When starting a cold engine, the choke
must be activated.
Note
When starting a warm engine, the
choke lever does not need to be
actuated.
IMPORTANT:
As soon as the engine is running,
push the choke lever back to its
initial position.
Activating the choke:
Before starting, actuate the choke
lever (1).
Deactivating the choke:
Push the choke lever back to its initial
position.

6.5 Fuel cock

The flow of fuel in the fuel line is enabled
or interrupted by opening (lever to "ON") or
closing (lever to OFF) the fuel cock.
The fuel cock is located on the side under
the oil bath air filter housing.
Open fuel cock:
The fuel cock (1) is opened by moving the
lever ("ON").
Close fuel cock:
The fuel cock (1) is closed by moving the
lever ("OFF").

7. Maintenance

7.1 Maintenance schedule

The specified service intervals must be
strictly observed for safe, economical and
fault-free operation.
Risk of injury!
Stop the engine, allow it to cool
down and detach the spark plug
socket before performing any
maintenance operations.
Before each use:
