HOW IT WORKS

HOW IT WORKS

*It is recommended to run the GG1000 continuously. Opening doors and/or windows in the room may affect the performance of the device.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

  1. Plug the unit into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
  2. For best results continuous operation is recommended.

NOTE: THE PLUGGABLE UV-C AIR SANITIZER UNIT CONTAINS NOSERVICEABLE PARTS EXCEPT ITS UV-C BULB. THE BULB MAY BE REMOVED FOR REPLACEMENT.

WHEN TO CHANGE THE BULB

A replaceable 3.5 watt UV-C light bulb will last approximately 5000 hours.

Over time with use the UV-C bulb will lose some intensity approximately 15% at 4000 hours. Therefore it is suggested to replace the UV-C light bulb approximately every 6 months (depending on use). You will know to change the bulb when the light flickers continuously or changes colors.

Replacement bulb no. LB1000.

REPLACING THE UV-C BULB

  1. Unplug the unit from the electrical outlet.
  2. Using a small Phillips head screwdriver, loosen and remove the Phillips screw located at the top backside of the unit.
  3. Remove the top cap by lifting it off of the top of the unit.
  4. Place the unit on a table or level surface in the upright position.
  5. Hold the unit in place with one hand. Locate the bulb and reach into the cylinder.
  6. With your opposite hand, turn the bulb in a counter-clockwise direction (left) to loosen from the socket.
  7. Take new bulb and screw into unit using a clockwise motion.
  8. Wipe off fingerprints wirh a dry cloth after9. Reassemble by reversing steps 1-6.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

PROBLEM SOLUTION
Unit doesn't operate. Check that unit is plugged in. Call Customer Service.
Light Flickers. Bulb burnt out. See 'Replacing UV-C Bulb' section of manual.
Fan runs but no light. Bulb burnt out. See 'Replacing UV-C Bulb' section of manual.


The UV-C bulb is specifically excluded from this warranty.

The Pluggable contains no serviceable parts. Due to the technology of the GG1000, all repairs must be performed by Guardian Technologies' authorized service centers. Any unauthorized repair or tampering with the GG1000 VOIDS this warranty. This warranty does not cover misuse or abuse.

When using this product basic precautions should be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury.

  • Use this product only as described in this manual.
  • Operate this product on 120 V AC, 60 HZ only.
  • Do not operate without cover in place.
  • Do not defeat the interlock switch.
  • Do not operate with an extension cord.
  • To reduce the risk of electrical shock, this equipment has a polarized plug (one blade is wider that the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact qualified personnel to install the proper outlet. DO NOT alter the plug in any way.
  • Do not operate this product if there is any physical damage to the unit.
  • This product is for indoor use only.
  • Do not operate this product in any area where there is a risk of the unit falling into or being exposed to water.
  • Opening windows or doors while operating this device may affect performance.
  • This device should not be used in the presence of oxygen or any flammable materials or gases.

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY:

  • Always unplug the unit before servicing.
  • Close supervision is necessary when operated by children and pets.
  • Do not handle the unit or plug with wet hands.
  • Keep the product away from heated surfaces.
  • Do not put any object into the opening or block airflow to the unit.


MISAPPLYING OR MISUSING THE UV-C BULB COULD CAUSE INJURY TO THE EYES OR SKIN. NEVER USE THE BULB WITHOUT INSTALLING IT IN THE UNIT AS INSTRUCTED. NEVER OPERATE THE UNIT WITHOUT THE TOP CAP IN PLACE.

This product can be serviced or maintained only by changing the UV-C bulb. The unit contains no serviceable parts. All parts, except the UV-C bulb, are warranted for 1-year from date of purchase. See the Limited Warranty. Use of any bulb other than the appropriate Pluggable UV-C Air Sanitizer bulb will void warranty. You may purchase bulbs (LB1000) directly from Guardian Technologies LLC, or we can provide you with the names of retailers who stock our products in your area. The health aspects associated with this product and its ability to aid in the disinfection of environmental air have not been investigated by the CSA. The purchase of the Pluggable UV-C Air Sanitizer unit does not prevent illness.

The 8 hour TWA Ozone for this product is 0.001 ppmv when tested in a 30 m3 chamber. The product complies with the maximum allowable concentration of ozone of 0.050 parts per million by volume (ppmv) in a 24-hour period. The Health Canada Guideline 2010 recommends that the maximum exposure limit, based on averaging time of 8 hours, is 0.020 ppmv or less when tested in a sealed, controlled room approximately 30 m3.

ULTRAVIOLET-C LIGHT IS EMITTED FROM THE BULB WHEN THE UNIT IS ELECTRIFIED, EYE INJURY OR IRRITATION COULD RESULT. UNPLUG THE UNIT WHEN SERVICING THE BULB TO AVOID OVEREXPOSURE OF EYES AND SKIN TO THE ULTRAVIOLET-C (UV-C) LIGHT.

Discard the used bulb by following the recommended disposal procedure for a used fluorescent bulb

The bulb should only be used in the Pluggable (GG1000) and all instructions for use must be folllowed.


ALWAYS UNPLUG THE UNIT FROM ELECTRICAL OUTLET WHEN SERVICING

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU CLEAN THE BULB, BULB HOLDER OR CYLINDER WITH WATER OR WET SOLUTIONS. THIS COULD CAUSE ELECTRICAL SHOCK.
