NAT ALGs
NAT ALGs, or Application Layer Gateway is a function that helps applications running behind NAT to function
correctly, and quickly without great involvement from the user. Certain protocols, such as IPsec and PPTP, have
difficulty operating in conjunction with NAT. With NAT ALGs enabled, the router can forward those packets
without subjecting them to NAT address mapping. Checking the corresponding boxes next to the protocols listed
below will allow applications using these protocols to function correctly and quickly within the assigned LAN
by allowing those packets to pass, by default. Unchecking the corresponding box will block the packet type from
routing Protocols supported by this application are H.323, IPsec, PPTP, ICQ and SIP. H323, IPsec, PPTP and
ICQ are checked, by default. Click OK to set checked protocols.
