Remove both hairpin clips from the pin which is
fastened to the speed control assembly (be careful
not to Jose the small flat washers found on the pin).
See Figure 29.
Remove the
~drive
pedal return spring.
Using two 9/16" wrenches, remove the pin from the
speed control assembly. SeetFigure 29.
Thread the idler adjustment rod inward or 04tward
to lengthen or shorten the travel of
th~
double-idler
bracket until proper adjustment is achieved.
Reassemble .. by following the above steps in
reverse ord;'"
,'. SECTION 14: OFF-SEASON STORAGE
Inhe machine is to be inoperative for a period longer
than
30
days, prepare for storage as follows.

heater, furnace, clothes dryer or other gas
appliance.
A.~WARNING:
Use a fuel stabilizer additive or
. . . drain the fuel into an approved container
. outdoors, away from an open flame. Anow
engine to cool. Extinguish cigarettes, cigars,
pipes and other sources of ignition prior
to
draining fuel.

Refer to the engine manual for

instructions.
The
engine
must
be
completely drained of fuel to prevent gum deposits
from forming on essential carburetor parts, fuel
lines and fuel tanks.
It is not necessary to remove the battery from the
tractor for storage. However, clean theJop of the
battery and make sure it has full charge

the negative terminal of the battery before storing
the tractor.
Store unit in a dean, dry area.

NOTE:
When stOring any type of power eqUiprltnt in
an" unventilated or metal storage shed, care should be
taken to rustproof the equipment. Using
a
light oil or
silicone, coat the equipment, especially any';thains,
Clean the engine and the entire unit thoroughly.
Lubricate all lubrication points. Wipe the entire
machine with an oiled rag to protect the painted

bearings
and
