Altimeter Setup
On the Main Menu, touch Setup>
Altimeter.
Auto Calibration-allow the altimeter
to self-calibrate each time you tum the
Oregon on.
Barometer Mode-select Variable
Elevation (used when moving) or
Fixed Elevation (used when stationary,
allowing the altimeter to function as a
standard barometer).
Pressure Trending-select when the
pressure data is recorded. Touch Save
Always to record pressure data every
15 minutes, even when the Oregon is
turned off. Touch Save When Power On
to record data only when the Oregon is
turned on. This can be useful when you
are watching for pressure fronts.
Plot Type-select the elevation plot
type:
• Elevation/Time-records elevation

• Elevation/Distance-records
elevation changes over a distance.
• Barometric Pressure-records
barometric pressure over a period of
time.
• Ambient Pressure-records ambient
pressure changes over a period of
time.
To manually calibrate the altimeter:
1. Go to a location where you know the
elevation or the barometric pressure.

On the Main Menu, touch
Setup
> Altimeter> Press To Begin
Altimeter Calibration.

if you know the elevation,
