Setting the distance
to the subject
Focus preset
Mode dial: aP/SCN/_t_
When shooting an image using a previously
set distance to the subject, or when shooting
a sut_iect through a net or through window
glass, it is difficult to get the proper focus in
auto focus mode. In fiaese cases, use of the
Focus preset is convenient.
Control button
Mode dial
MENU
[] Set the mode dial to aP, SCN,
or H.
[] Press MENU.
The menu appears.
[] Select _ (Focus) with </1%
then select the distance to the
subject with &IT.
You can select from _fie following
distance settings
0.5m, 1.0m, 3.0m, 7.0m and
(infinity)
To reactivate auto focusing
In step [k_ll, s elect @ (Focus), tfien select
[Multi AF] or [Cenwr AF].
• FOCUS setting infomlaflon is approximate, and
should be used _$ a re.fence
• If you point the lens _ _ down, the error will
increase
• Ifyouselect0 5 m(9 3/4 inches) wi_h thezoom
set to the T side, you may not get a clear fbcus
In such cases, tile focus setting information
flashes Press the zoom W btttton until the
indicator stops flashing.
• The fbcus preset does not work properly when
attaching a conversion lens (not supplied)
Adjusting the
exposure
EV adjustment
Mode dial: I_IP/SCN/H
This lets you adjust the exposure value
which is set by automatic adjustment. You
cm_ select values ranging from +2.0EV to
2.0EV in steps of I/3EV.
