Problem
Final photo is larger than area shown
in viewfi nder.
Randomly-spaced
bright
("noise") appears in photographs.
Reddish areas appear in photos.
Photos are blotched or smeared.
Colors are unnatural
Flashing areas appear in images
Shooting data appear on images
A graph appears during playback
RAW image is not played back.
• Some photos are not displayed

"Tall" (portrait) orientation photos

Viewfi nder horizontal and vertical frame coverage is
approximately 95 %.
• Lower ISO sensitivity or use high ISO noise reduction.

• Shutter speed is slower than 8 s: use long exposure
noise reduction.
Reddish areas may appear in long time-exposures.
Turn long exposure noise reduction On when shoot-
ing at shutter speeds of "bulb" or "--".
• Clean lens.
• Clean low-pass fi lter.
• Select mode P, S, A, or M and adjust white balance to
match light source.
• Select mode P, S, A, or M and adjust Optimize image
settings.
Press multi selector up or down or rotate sub-com-
mand dial to choose photo information displayed.
Photo was taken at image quality of NEF + JPEG.
Select All for Playback folder. Note that Current will
automatically be selected when next photo is taken.
• Select On for Rotate tall.
• Photo was taken with Off selected for Auto image
rotation.
• Camera orientation was changed while shutter-re-
lease button was pressed in continuous shooting
mode.
• Camera was pointed up or down when photo was
taken.
Photo is protected: remove protection.
Memory card is full or locked.
Photo is in RAW (NEF) format. Transfer to computer and
print using supplied software or Capture NX.
Set USB to PTP.
Choose correct video mode.
Choose correct USB option.
Set USB to PTP.
