Your Device

The perfect reproduction of sound, unadulterated and clear – that is what the IE 600 stands for. The IE 600 is a pair of earphones that follows in the footsteps of the audiophile IE 900, Sennheiser's flagship in-ears. Based on the highly acclaimed TrueResponse transducers, the IE 600 features the "Dual 2 Chamber Absorber" resonator chambers that help the sound setup to have a direct and focused space. Voices come to the fore and build a bridge between you and the music so that the world around you disappears.

With decades of expertise and continuous research crafted into the dynamic 7 mm inear transducers, the IE 600 is capable of a neutral sound reproduction and a yet powerful low bass range. The balanced reproduction delivers crisp trebles that do not analytically dissect the music. The IE 600 reflects our engineers' passion for reproducing the perfect sound and for creating the experience of an intimate personal moment with music.

The IE 600 is manufactured by a team of experts at our factory specialized in headphones in Tullamore, Ireland. And, as with any audiophile headphones, the tightest production tolerances apply. Every transducer is fully tested – first individually and then together after the right and left earphones have been hand-selected in pairs. The transducers of the right and left earphones are carefully selected to optimally match with each other.

The transducers are enclosed in earphone housings that are unprecedented in audiophile earphones. Selective laser melting was used to build the housing layer by layer into a metal with amorphous structures. The result is an extremely hard material that is resilient against environmental influences. Due to its properties and the complex production process, it was primarily used in aerospace or medical technology. Besides, the metallic rough surface of the zirconium-copper-aluminum-niobium alloy is a real eye-catcher.

The IE 600 provides outstanding connectivity with Fidelity+ MMCX connections. These precise plug connections have been optimized for mobile use of the earphones. Due to the high sheathing of the plug connections, the filigree contacts are well protected against mechanical stress. On the device side, 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm jack plugs are available as standard.

The over-the-ear cable routing with adjustable ear hooks provides lightweight wearing comfort as well as reduced structure-borne noise compared to standard cables. So you can enjoy even long listening sessions with these unique Sennheiser IE 600 earphones.

Selecting the ear adapters and inserting the device into the ears

The perceived sound quality including bass performance and the reduction of ambient noise depends to a large extent on the correct fit of the earphones in the ears. Figure out which ear adapter type and size suits you best in terms of both sound quality and wearing comfort.

  • Mount the ear adapters to the earphones until they lock into place. You can choose between 2 lock-in positions.

Silicone

  • Select ear adapters of the correct size (S, M or L) so that the earphones sit comfortably and securely in your ears.
    Selecting the Silicone ear adapters

Visco memory foam
The ear adapters made of Visco foam adapt optimally to the ear canal due to the expansion of the memory foam.

  • Select ear adapters of the correct size (S, M or L) and roll the ear adapters between your fingers until they are small. Insert the earphones into the ears and hold the earphones for at least 15 seconds so that the compressed Visco foam can expand and the earphones sit snuggly in your ears.
Selecting the viscose foam ear adapters

Ear hooks

  • To provide strain relief for the cables, the cables are guided over the ears. You can carefully bend the ear hooks so that they fit comfortably and securely, even if you wear glasses, for example.
  • Insert the earphones into the ears. Observe the markings "R" (right; with additional red ring) and "L" (left; with additional tactile dots) for correct assignment.

Selecting and connecting the connection cable

Stereo jack plugs on the device

  • 3.5 mm, unbalanced signal transmission, 3-pin
  • 4.4 mm, balanced signal transmission, 5-pin
  • Optionally available: 2.5 mm, balanced signal transmission, 4-pin

MMCX connectors on the earphones

  • Hold the earphones firmly and pull the connectors straight out of the socket by overcoming a slight resistance. Always grasp the connectors by the connector housing and do not pull on the cable!
  • When connecting, make sure that the markings "R" (right) and "L" (left) on the connectors match the earphones. The right ear canal phone is marked with a red ring and the left ear canal phone is marked with a tactile dot. Insert the connectors until they lock into place.

Optimum cable routing

Cleaning the device

For reasons of hygiene, the ear adapters should be replaced from time to time. (The Visco memory foam ear adapters only have a durability of a few months due to their material properties). Spare parts are available from your Sonova Consumer Hearing partner. To find a partner in your country, search at www.sennheiser-hearing.com/service-support.

  • Clean the product only with a soft, dry cloth.
  • You can clean the ear adapters under lukewarm running water. Remove the foam pins before cleaning. Let the ear adapters and foam pins dry at room temperature for at least 12 hours before reassembling them and reattaching them to the earphones.
    Cleaning the ear adapters
  • To clean the sound channel grilles, use the cleaning tool (supplied) to carefully and lightly scrape over the grilles to remove dirt. Loosen the dirt without piercing the grilles.
