You receive the error message: "No Carrier Detected"
Using a regular phone, check that the phone line is active (you have dial
tone) then reconnect the modem to the wall jack.
Check the Dialing Options. By default the modem is set to dial 9 for an
outside line. If you don't dial 9 to make a voice call, click Start, then point to
Programs, point to Dialing Options, and select Dialing Patterns. In each box,
remove the 9.
