Seat INSTALL SEAT Adjust seat before tightening adjustment knob. 1. Remove adjustment knob and flat washer securing seat to cardboard packing and set aside for assembly seat to tractor. Pivot seat upward and remove the cardboard packing. Remove cardboard packing and discard.

ADD GASOLINE • Fill fuel tank to bottom of tank filler neck. Do not overfill. Use fresh, clean, regular unleaded gasoline with a minimum of 87 octane. (Use of leaded gasoline will increase carbon and lead oxide deposits and reduce valve life). Do not mix oil with gasoline.

TRACTOR Always observe safety rules when performing any maintenance. BRAKE OPERATION If tractor requires more than six (6) feet stopping distance at high speed highest gear, then brake must be ad- justed. (See "TO ADJUST BRAKE" Service and Adjustments section manual).

AIR FILTER Your engine will not run properly using a dirty air filter. Clean the foam pre-cleaner after every 25 hours of operation or every season. Service paper cartridge every 100 hours of operation or every season, whichever occurs first. Service air cleaner more often under dusty conditions.

5. Connect suspension arms to rear deck brackets and secure with retainer springs. 6. Connect anti-sway bar to chassis bracket and secure with retainer spring. Push clutch cable housing guide bracket, slide collar onto guide and secure with large retainer spring.

TO REPLACE MOWER BLADE DRIVE BELT The mower blade drive belt may be replaced without tools. Park the tractor on level surface. Engage parking brake. BELT REMOVAL 1. Remove mower from tractor (See "TO REMOVE MOWER" in this section manual). 2.

BELT INSTALLATION 1. Carefully work new belt down tween transaxle belt keepers the input pulley. Slide belt into the center span keeper. Pull belt toward front of tractor and roll around the top groove of engine pulley. Install belt through stationary clutching idler.

REPLACING BATTERY 4_LWARNING: Do not short b, a ttery terminals oy allowing a wrencn or any other object to contact both terminals at the same time. Before connecting battery, remove metal bracelets, wristwatch bands, rings, etc. Positive terminal must be connected first to prevent sparking from accidental grounding.
