Try to record your voice with the same equipment that you
normally use with your phone. For example, if you plan to:
Use voice functions in handheld mode, hold the phone to
your ear in the same position that you would normally
use it on a call.
Have your phone connected to your Bluetooth headset
when using voice commands, connect to your headset
first (see "Organizing Paired Devices" on page 112), then
record your voice commands using the headset.
Have your phone connected to your car hands-free device
when using voice commands, record your voice
commands when your phone is in the car hands-free
device.
Keep in mind that longer voice tags provide a higher
recognition rate.
Shorter tags may cause a lower recognition rate. For
example, the name "Rob" can easily be confused with
"Bob."
At anytime during voice recognition, you can say "cancel"
to stop recognition.
Say "help" at anytime (except during Voice Answering) to
see and hear online help.

Problems when Recording

If your phone cannot detect speech, one of the following might
have happened:
You spoke too softly – try speaking more loudly.
You held the phone too far away – hold it as you would
during a call.
The voice command was too short – it should be about one
second long.
You spoke too late or too soon – speak immediately after
the tone.
You recorded multiple voice commands that sound too
similar - keep commands unique.
