Faults and their rectification

Danger to life for operation without functioning protective devices
Operation without functioning protective devices can cause death or severe injury.
• Operate the motor, even in test operation, only with functioning protective devices.
Risk of vertical axes dropping as a result of a defective gearbox
If you use the geared motor to drive vertical axes, a defective gearbox can cause parts and
components to fall resulting in death or severe injury.
• Only use intact geared motors.
• Observe any unusual geared motor noise.
NOTICE
Damage to the geared motor caused by faults
Faults can cause damage to the geared motor.
• Correct the cause of the fault as specified in the remedial measures.
• Repair any damage that has occurred at the machine/motor/gearbox.
Note
On occurrence of electrical faults, observe the notes in the frequency converter documentation.
• If any deviations occur with respect to normal operation or if faults occur, proceed initially
according to the list of possible faults.
• In this regard, observe the relevant chapters in the documentation associated with the
components of the complete drive system.
