Setting the self-timer

Use this feature to take a photo ten seconds after you press
the shutter button.
Note:

Turn on the camera.

Rotate the Mode knob to the RECORD setting.

Press the Self-timer enable button (top of camera).
The self-timer is now turned on and the self-timer icon
appears on the Status LCD.
Note:

Frame the photo using the optical viewfinder
or the LCD.

Press the shutter button.
For 7 seconds, the red status LED on the front of the
camera lights while the green status LED on the back of
the camera blinks.
In the last 3 seconds before the camera takes the photo,
the red status LED on the front of the camera begins to
blink while the camera beeps (if beeps are enabled).

For best results, mount the camera on a tripod when
using the self-timer.
To cancel the self-timer, press the Self-timer
button again.
