Activating and deactivating drive
mode Eco with the function button
There is a function button for Eco
in the centre display's function view unless
the car was equipped with drive mode con-
trol in the tunnel console.
The Eco mode is deactivated when the engine
is switched off, and it must therefore be acti-
vated after each time the engine is started.
The driver display shows ECO when the func-
tion is activated.

Press the Driving Mode ECO

activate or deactivate the function.
> An indicator in the button illuminates
when the function is activated.

Start/stop function

With the start/stop function, the engine
switches off temporarily when the car has
drive mode
stopped e.g. at traffic lights or in a traffic
queue, and then starts again when it is nee-
ded.
The start/stop function reduces fuel consump-
tion, which in turn contributes to reduced
exhaust emissions.
The system makes it possible to adopt an
environmentally-conscious driving style by
allowing the car to engine auto-stop when
possible.

Driving with start/stop function

The start/stop function temporarily switches
off the engine when stationary and then
starts it automatically when required.
The Start/Stop function is available when the
car is started and can be activated if certain
conditions have been met.
The driver display indicates when the function
is
available

All of the car's normal systems such as light-
ing, radio, etc. work normally, even when the
engine is auto-stopped. However, some
equipment may have its output temporarily
reduced, e.g. the climate control system's fan
speed or extremely high volume on the audio
system.
