The Vi king Microfast Model M and
Model M-5 Quick Re sponse Side wall
Sprin klers are small, thermosensitive
glass-bulb spray sprin klers. The pip-cap
and seal ing as sem bly of the sprin klers
are held in place by a rug ged 3 mm glass
bulb.

Vi king Microfast Model M Quick Re -
sponse Side wall Sprin klers are avail -
able in ver ti cal side wall or hor i zon tal
side wall styles.

The Vi king Microfast Model M-5 Quick
Re sponse Side wall Sprin kler is avail -
able as a hor i zon tal side wall style only.
Both sprin klers are avail able with sev -
eral fin ishes and tem per a ture rat ings to
meet de sign re quire ments. The ver ti cal
style is listed for use in ei ther the up right
or pen dent po si tion. The spe cial poly es -
ter and Tef lon ® coat ings can be used in
dec o ra tive ap pli ca tions where col ors
are de sired. In ad di tion, these two fin -
ishes are cor ro sion re sis tant and pro -
vide pro tec tion against many cor ro sive
en vi ron ments.
Dur ing fire con di tions, when the tem per -
a ture around the sprin kler reaches its
op er at ing tem per a ture,
heat-sensitive liq uid in the glass bulb ex -
pands, caus ing the bulb to shat ter, re -
leas ing the pip-cap and seal ing spring
as sem bly. Wa ter flow ing through the
sprin kler or i fice strikes the sprin kler de -
flec tor, form ing a uni form spray pat tern
to ex tin guish or con trol the fire.

not and do not represent all possible corrosive environments. Prior to installation, verify
through the end-user that the coatings are compatible with or suitable for the proposed
environment. The coatings indicated are applied to the exposed exterior surfaces only.
NOTE: The sprinkler is exposed on the Poly es ter-Coated and Teflon
