Resetting and Locking Your Phone
Through SMS
When your phone is lost or stolen, you can erase your
important personal information (such as Contacts entries, call
history, and messages) and lock your phone by sending a
specially-formatted SMS message to your phone.
From your computer, sign on to
message to your phone (input your 10-digit wireless phone
number) in the following format:
\ \ RESET **<Passcode>** RESET
<Passcode> - your defined passcode.
The default passcode is your phone's 18-digit MEID (Mobile
Equipment Identifier), which can be found on the phone's
packaging or on the phone itself. The locked phone will display
the following message: "If found, please call Sprint Customer
Service 1-888-211-4727."
Note:
To send a message from mailer software, input
your 10-digit wireless phone number followed by
"@messaging.sprintpcs.com."
To enable locking your phone through SMS:
1.
Select
code. (The Security menu is displayed.)
2.
Select Others > Found Me > Reset/Lock > Enable.
To unlock a phone that has been locked through SMS,
please take the phone to your nearest Sprint Store.
