APPLICATIONS
Rem oval of casting fin and finishing of various types
of steel, bronze and alum inum m aterials and castings.
Grinding of w elded sections or sections cut by
m eans of a cutting torch.
Grinding of synthetic resins, slate, brick, m arble, etc.
Cutting of synthetic concrete, stone, brick, m arble
and sim ilar m aterials.
PRIOR TO OPERATION
1. Pow er source
Ensure that the pow er source to be utilized conform s
to the pow er requirem ents specified on the product
nam eplate.
2. Pow er sw itch
Ensure that the pow er sw itch is in the OFF position.
If the plug is connected to a receptacle w hile the
pow er sw itch is in the ON position, the pow er tool
w ill start operating im m ediately, w hich could cause
a serious accident.
3. Extension cord
When the w ork area is rem oved from the pow er
source, use an extension cord of sufficient thickness
and rated capacity. The extension cord should be
kept as short as practicable.
4. Fitting and adjusting the w heel guard
The w heel guard is a protective device to prevent
injury should the depressed center w heel shatter
during operation. Ensure that the guard is properly
fitted and fastened before com m encing grinding
operation.

[Installing and adjusting the w heel guard]
Open the lever and insert the locating pin of w heel
guard, bringing it into line w ith the across flats of
packing ground.
Then, turn the w heel guard to a desired position
(for use).
Close the lever and fix it. If and w hen required,
carry out adjustm ents by tightening or loosening
the screw .
If the lever does not m ove sm oothly, apply som e
lubricating oil to the sliding section betw een the set
piece and the lever.
Fasten the w heel guard at the position w here the
across flats of the w heel guard positioning pin and
packing ground are aligned (the position w here the
w heel guard is inserted), but do not use it.
5. Ensure that the depressed center w heel to be utilized
is the correct type and free of cracks or surface
defects. Also ensure that the depressed center w heel
is properly m ounted and the w heel nut is securely
tightened, refer to the section on " Depressed Center
Wheel Assem bly" .
6. Conducting a trial run
Ensure that the abrasive products is correctly
m ounted and tightened before use and run the tool
at no-load for 30 seconds in a safe position, stop
im m ediately if there is considerable vibration or if
other defects are detected.
If this condition occurs, check the m achine to
determ ine the cause.
7. Confirm the spindle lock mechanism
Confirm that the spindle lock is disengaged by
pushing push button tw o or three tim es before
sw itching the pow er tool on (See Fig. 1).
8. Fixing the side handle
Screw the side handle into the gear cover.
PRACTICAL GRINDER APPLICATION
1. Pressure
To prolong the life of the m achine and ensure a
first class finish, it is im portant that the m achine
should not be overloaded by applying too m uch
pressure. In m ost applications, the w eight of the
m achine alone is sufficient for effective grinding.
