USING THE SCOPE

  1. Your Scope can be focused by twisting the barrel.
  2. Looking through the Scope, you will see the range-finding scale (See Figure 1).
    USING THE SCOPE
    figure 1

The bottom of the scale is labeled GREEN and the top is labeled "Yards/Meters." The lines on the scale indicate yardage/ metric increments from 50 to 200 yards/meters.
  3. From where you are standing, locate the flagpole through the Scope.
  4. Position the image so that the bottom of the flagpole touches the horizontal line marked GREEN.
  5. With the bottom of the flagpole on the line marked GREEN, read the yardage/metric number on the scale that corresponds to the top of the flagpole. This is the distance from where you are standing to the flag. If, for example, the top point of the flagpole is directly across from the number 150 on the yards side of the reticle scale, then you are 150 yards from the flag.

IF ONLY A PORTION OF THE FLAGPOLE IS VISIBLE
A hill or other natural feature of the course landscape may obstruct your vision so that you can only see part of the flagpole. With a few simple calculations, you can still use your Scope, since most golf course flagpoles have alternating one-foot red and white bands.

  1. Look through the Scope and position the image so that the GREEN line of the scale just touches the bottom of the visible portion of the flagpole (the point at which the flagpole meets the obstruction).
  2. Count the number of visible bands on the flagpole. If only the top band is visible, divide the distance on the scale by eight. If the top two bands are visible, divide the distance on the scale by four. If the top four bands are visible, divide the distance reading in half.

Example: If the top of the flagpole is directly across from 200 yards on the scale and only the top four bands are visible on the flagpole, then you are 100 yards from the hole. Or, if the scale reads 200 yards and only the top two bands are visible, then you are 50 yards from the hole.

warning NOTE: The Scope may not be approved for tournament play. Be sure to check tournament/club rules.
