Some DVDs have recorded subtitles in one or
more languages. You can turn the subtitles on
or off, or change the subtitle language on such
DVDs.

Press (SUBTITLE) during playback.
The subtitle language is displayed at the
upper left.

language switches within the list of subtitle
languages recorded on the disc.

• You can also change t he subt it le languages by
changing Set up*. See " Displaying t he subt it les
f or DVD — SUBTITLE" (page 23).
* You can change t o a specif ic subt it le language
using t he DVD SETUP menu, only if t he
language is included in bot h t he disc and t he
menu. In some discs, t he init ial language t o be
displayed is specif ied regardless of t he DVD
SETUP menu set t ing.
