For safe and efficient mowing, always make a pre-operation inspection before
operating:
Perform a pre-operation inspection on a firm, level surface with the
engine stopped and spark plug cap removed from the spark plug.
Before each use, look around and underneath the engine for signs of oil or
gasoline leaks.
1. Check the engine oil level
CAUTION:
Running the engine with low oil level will cause serious engine damage.
Check the engine oil level with the engine stopped and in a level position.
1. Remove the oil filler cap/dipstick and wipe it clean.
2. Insert and remove the oil filler cap/dipstick without screwing it into the filler
neck. Check the oil level shown on the dipstick.
3. If the oil level is low, fill to the upper limit mark on the oil filler cap/dipstick
with the recommended oil.
4. Reinstall the oil filler cap/dipstick securely.
