Overview

This chapter covers the setup and installation of the MicroBlade and its components.

Installing MicroBlades
Up to twenty-eight MBI-6219B-TxxN MicroBlade may be installed into a single
MBE-628E-xxx and MBE-314E-xxx MicroBlade enclosure. MicroBlades with Windows
and Linux operating systems may be mixed together in the same blade enclosure.
Powering Up a MicroBlade Unit
Each MicroBlade unit may be powered on and off independently from the rest of the
MicroBlades installed in the same enclosure. A MicroBlade unit may be powered up in
two ways:
Press the power button on the MicroBlade unit.
Use IPMIView or the web-browser based management utility to apply power using
the CMM MicroBlade.
Powering Down a MicroBlade Unit
A MicroBlade unit may be powered down in any of the following ways:
Press the power button on the MicroBlade unit.
Use IPMIView or the web-browser based management utility to power down (if you
have Operator or Admin privileges on the CMM).
Use IPMItool when connected to the CMM to power down (if you have Operator or
Admin privileges on the CMM).
