    Setting Up the P-touch Labelling Machine Connecting the Power Supply Use the AD9100ESA (AC adapter) for this machine. Connect the AC adapter directly to the machine. Insert the plug on the AC adapter cord into the AC adapter socket marked DC IN 24 V on the machine. Insert the plug on the power supply cord into the AC adapter.

    Setting Up the P-touch Labelling Machine Inserting a Tape Cassette The TZe tape, FLe label and HSe tube cassettes can be used in your machine. Important If the new tape cassette has a cardboard stopper, be sure to remove the stopper before inserting the cassette.
  • Page 16 Setting Up the P-touch Labelling Machine Important • When inserting the tape cassette, make sure that the tape and ink ribbon do not catch on the print head. • Make sure that there is no slack in the tape. Otherwise the tape may catch on the protrusion (2) and become bent or wrinkled, causing the tape to jam.

    Setting Up the P-touch Labelling Machine Turning Power On/Off On: Press the (Power) button to turn the machine on. The (Power) indicator lights in green. Off: Press and hold the (Power) button again to turn the machine off. The (Power) indicator may light in orange until the power is off.

    To print from your Windows computer or Mac, install the printer driver, Cable Label Tool, P-touch Editor and other applications. Visit our website (install.brother) and download the installer for the latest software and manuals. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the installation.

    9. Wired LAN connection (P950NW only)  See Connecting Using a Wired LAN (P950NW Only) on page 12. Connecting Using USB Before connecting the USB cable, make sure that the machine is turned off. Connect the machine end of the USB cable to the USB port on the back of the machine.

(Status) indicator flashes in green and the (Power) indicator lit in orange. 3 Continue holding down the (Power) button, and press the (Feed&Cut) button two times (for APIPA On) or four times (for APIPA Off).

When the connection between the machine and your wireless access point/router is established, the (Wi-Fi) indicator lights in green. Computers on the same network as the machine will have access to the machine.

    Printing Using the Computer Printing from Your Computer There are various methods for printing with this machine. The following describes the procedure for printing from a computer using Cable Label Tool or P-touch Editor. Start Cable Label Tool or P-touch Editor, and then open the document you want to print. Create a label design.

    Printing Using the Computer Note • When printing multiple copies of different labels, select chain printing option to reduce the blank space between the labels. (See Tape Cut Option Table on page 14.) • When using the chain printing option, press the (Feed&Cut) button after the last label is printed.

    Printing Using the Mobile Device Installing Applications for Use with Mobile Devices Brother offers various applications for use with your P-touch labelling machine, including applications that allow you to print directly from your Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch or Android™ smartphone or tablets, and applications that allow you to transfer data, such as templates, symbols, and databases created using a computer, to your machine wirelessly.

    Infrastructure Mode. Therefore, if you also connect your mobile device to the machine using Infrastructure Mode, you can quickly transfer downloaded files (.blf file only). Use the barcode scanner or the touch panel display (optional: PA-TDU-003)(P950NW only) to select the template that you want to print from the transferred file and print it.

    Using the Other Interfaces (Serial Interface/Bluetooth Interface) To connect a barcode scanner or scale to the P-touch labelling machine using a serial cable or Bluetooth and use the P-touch Template functions, you must transfer a template to the machine in advance.     Using the Other Interfaces (Serial Interface/Bluetooth Interface) Connecting Using the Bluetooth Interface (Optional: PA-BI-002) (P950NW Only) You can connect the machine to a barcode scanner using a Bluetooth interface (optional:PA-BI-002). Note • Follow the recommendations of the manufacturer of your Bluetooth-equipped devices such as barcode scanners or Bluetooth adapter and install any necessary hardware and software.

    Click the [Printer Setting Tool] icon on the [Apps] screen.  For Windows 10: From the Start button, select [All apps], and then click [Brother] - [Label & Mobile Printer] - [Printer Setting Tool]. The main window appears. 1 Printer Lists the connected machines.

    Changing the P-touch Labelling Machine Settings Communication Settings for Windows With [Communication Settings] in the Printer Setting Tool, the machine communication information can be specified or changed when connecting the machine and computer with a USB cable. Not only can you change the communication settings for one machine, but you can also apply the same settings to multiple machines.

The file extension is .bin. The saved command file can be used with the mass storage mode to apply the settings to a machine. (See Mass Storage Mode on page 82.) Note If the [Disable these settings] check box is selected, the settings in that tab are not saved.

Enterprise security authentication (such as LEAP and EAP-FAST), WPA2-PSK (TKIP) and WPA-PSK (AES) settings cannot be imported.

    Using the Printer Setting Tool for Mac Connect the machine you want to configure to the computer. Click [Macintosh HD] - [Applications] - [Brother] - [Printer Setting Tool] - [Printer Setting Tool.app]. The [Printer Setting Tool] window appears. Check that the machine you want to configure appears next to [Printer]. If a different machine appears, select the machine you want from the drop-down list.
