  • The device can be used by children from 8 years and above and by persons with a physical, sensory, mental or motorial disability, or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or instructed on how to use the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised. Keep the device and the mains cable out of the reach of children younger than 8 years. Children shall not play with the device.
  • Only use the device for its intended purposes. Do not use the device for other purposes than described in the manual.
  • Do not use the device if any part is damaged or defective. If the device is damaged or defective, replace the device immediately.
  • The device is suitable for indoor use only. Do not use the device outdoors.

  • Make sure that the device does not come into contact with flammable material.
  • Keep the device away from heat sources. Do not place the device on hot surfaces or near open flames.
  • Do not cover the device.
  • Make sure that there is sufficient space around the device to allow heat to escape and provide sufficient ventilation.
  • Place the device on a stable, flat surface
  • Place the device on a heat-resistant and splash-proof surface.
  • Always use the door handle to open the door.
  • Do not place objects on top of the device. Do not place objects on the open door.
  • Only use containers made of metal, stone or glass in the device. Do not use containers made of other materials.
  • Do not use the device for storage purposes.
  • Beware of hot parts. The surfaces marked with a caution symbol for hot surfaces are liable to become hot during use. The accessible surfaces can become hot when the device is operating. The outer surface can become hot when the device is operating.
  • Be careful when touching the device. Use oven gloves if you need to touch the device during or shortly after use.
  • Make sure that your hands are dry before touching the device.
  • Do not leave the device unattended at any time with during or directly after use.

Electrical safety

  • To reduce risk of electric shock, this product should only be opened by an authorized technician when service is required.
  • Disconnect the product from the mains and other equipment if a problem should occur.
  • Do not use the device if the mains cable or mains plug is damaged or defective. If the mains cable or mains plug is damaged or defective, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorised repair agent.
  • Before use, always check that the mains voltage is the same as the voltage on the rating plate of the device.
  • Connect the device to an earthed wall socket. If necessary, use an earthed extension cable of a suitable diameter.
  • Always fully unwind the mains cable and the extension cable.
  • The device is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
  • Do not move the device by pulling the mains cable. Make sure that the mains cable cannot become entangled. Make sure that the mains cable does not hang over the edge of a worktop and cannot be caught accidentally or tripped over.
  • Do not immerse the device, the mains cable or the mains plug in water or other liquids.

Initial use

  • Insert the mains plug into the wall socket.
  • KAOV110EBK18: Set the temperature to 230°C using the temperature dial.
  • Set the time to 60 minutes using the timer dial. The on/off indicator comes on. The device starts heating.
  • After 60 minutes, the device will switch off automatically. The on/off indicator goes off.
  • Remove the mains plug from the wall socket.

Note: If you switch on the device for the first time, the device may emit a little smoke and a characteristic smell for a short period. This is normal operation.

Use

  • If necessary, preheat the oven before putting the food into the oven.
  • Make sure that the space between the upper heating element and the food is at least 30 mm.
  • Insert the mains plug into the wall socket.
  • Open the door using the door grip.
  • Place the baking rack into the oven using the support guides in the sides.
  • Place the baking tray into the oven:
  • To use the baking tray for preparing food, place the baking tray onto the baking rack.
  • To use the baking tray as a drip tray when grilling food, place the baking tray below the baking rack.
  • Put the food onto the baking rack or the baking tray.
  • Close the door using the door grip.
  • KAOV110EBK18: Set the temperature using the temperature dial.
  • Set the timer using the timer dial.
  • Switch on the device by turning the mode dial to the required mode: upper heating / lower heating / upper and lower
  • Regularly check whether the food is prepared correctly to make sure that it does not burn.
  • To interrupt the process, turn the timer dial to the "OFF" position. The on/off indicator goes off.
  • Use the baking tray handle or oven gloves to remove the food from the oven.
  • After use, remove the mains plug from the wall socket and wait until the device has cooled down.

Cleaning and maintenance

  • Befor cleaning or maintenance, switch off the device, remove the mains plug from the wall socket and wait until the device has cooled down.
  • Do not use cleaning solvents or abrasives.
  • Do not use vinegar, vinegar concentrate or citric acid.
  • Do not use oven cleaners.
  • Do not use sharp objects.
  • Do not attempt to repair the device. If the device does not operate correctly, replace it with a new device.
  • Do not immerse the device in water or other liquids.
  • Do not clean the accessories in the dishwasher.
  • Clean the inside of the device with a damp cloth. Thoroughly dry the inside of the device with a clean, dry cloth. Do not wipe the heating elements.
  • Clean the baking rack, the baking tray and the baking tray handle in soapy water. Rinse the accessories under running water. Thoroughly dry the accessories with a clean, dry cloth.
