INSTRUCTIONS

Getting started

Press and hold ON / OFF button for 2 seconds to power ON the speaker, the blue LED will start to flash, and a prompt voice will notify that the speaker is on.

Press and hold ON / OFF button for 2 seconds to power OFF, a prompt voice will notify that the speaker is turning off.

Use in water

This speaker complies with the IPX7 standard. This means that it can be used safely submerged in water, but always following these guidelines:
It can only be used in freshwater or saltwater.
Maximum depht in the water 1 meter.
Maximum submerged time 30 minuts. Water temperature: 15ºC - 35ºC.

Notes:
Always before submerging, make sure that the rubber waterproof cover has been completely closed. Never try to open the rubber waterproof cover while is exposed nor submerged in water.

TWS

True Wireless Stereo (TWS)
This speaker includes a True Wireless Stereo (TWS) function.

This function allows you to wirelessly connect another BST-500 Bluetooth speaker to double the power and perform a stereo system separating the left and right channels.

In order to do this, turn on your two BST-500 Bluetooth speakers and click the PLAY, PAUSE / ANSWER PHONE button on one of the two speakers. After a few seconds they will automatically synchronize, then the blue led indicator will blink on one speaker and and stay on continously in the other.

Connect your smartphone via Bluetooth to the master loudspeaker by accessing the settings of your smartphone and selecting AIWA BST-500.

From then on you can stream via Bluetooth and both units will sound at the same time.

TWS mode allows you to change the track and modify the volume from either speaker. The selected volume is common to both speakers, that is to say, when raising the volume in one of the two you will be raising the volume of both devices at the same time.

Note:
This function is only available with Bluetooth mode.

AUX IN MODE

Auxiliary input function mode

  1. Connect the AUX cable (included) to the AUX IN socket, the blue LED indicator will flash slowly, notifying that the speaker has entered in Aux-In mode.
  2. Plug the other end to your external device to play music.

Note:
Music and volume can be controlled by your device.

BLUETOOTH MODE

Bluetooth pairing

  1. Turn on the unit and automatically the blue LED indicator will start flashing.
    This means that the speaker is already searching for another Bluetooth device to pair.
  2. Turn on the Bluetooth function of your smartphone, search the Bluetooth devices and select AIWA BST-500.
    Enter the code "0000" if needed.
  3. If the device is paired succesfully, the blue light indicator will keep bright, and a prompt voice will notify that the device is connected.
    Having succesfully paired, the device will be automatically connect to the speaker the next time.

Incoming calls

If there's an incoming call while the Bluetooth function mode is enabled, the unit will allow you to receive the phone call with its built-in microphone.

Short press PLAY, PAUSE / ANSWER CALLS button to answer a call.

Short press PLAY, PAUSE / ANSWER CALLS button to end a call.

Press PLAY, PAUSE / ANSWER CALLS button for 2 seconds to reject incoming calls.

To make a call, simply dial the number or select a contact from your smartphone and call.

Playing music

You can control the playback during Bluetooth mode with: PLAY, PAUSE / ANSWER CALLS:

  • Short press the button to play or pause the playback.

BACKWARDS / VOLUME DOWN:

  • Short press the button to go back to the previous track.
  • Long press the button to turn down the volume.

FORWARD / VOLUME UP:

  • Short press the button to go to the next song.
  • Long press the button to turn up the volume.

BATTERY AND CHARGE

Charging the speaker
This speaker is provided with a rechargable battery:

  1. Connect the USB charging cable to the USB TYPE C CHARGING PORT on the side of the unit. The blue LED indicator will be red during charging.
  2. The red LED indicator will turn off after the battery is fully charged

Notes:
The speaker will emit a beep when the battery level is low and needs to be recharged.
Before charging make sure the voltage is compatible. Before the first use we recommend to fully charge the device.

  • Do not throw batteries into fire! Respect the environment when disposing used batteries.
  • Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or other similar heat sources.
  • The power plug must be easily accessible.
    Unplug the device to switch it off completely.
  • If exposed to any electrostatic phenomenon, the product may malfunction and the user must reset the device. (To do this, remove the battery and unplug the unit for 1 minute, repeat the process in reverse to complete the reset).
