INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROVISIONS:
If straps are installed but the breaker will NOT be at this time, provision barriers MUST be installed.
(Skip this section if the breaker is installed.)
PREPARING THE EQUIPMENT FOR PROVISIONS:
(Refer to Figures 1 thru 5)
A. Follow Steps 1 thru 11 from page 2 and page 3
of this instruction sheet.
INSTALLING THE PROVISION STRAP BARRIER:
(Refer to Figure 7)
B. To install the Provision Barrier (Item 12), form the
barrier as shown, orient it as shown (longer side
towards inside), align the barrier hole with the
hole in the Medium Strap (Item 4), and secure
with the #10-32 screw (Item 14).
INSTALLING FILLER TO THE COVER PLATE:
(Refer to Figure 8)
C. Orient the Provision Filler Plate (Item 13) to the
Cover Plate (Item 6) as shown. (The Filler Plate
comes with a pre-applied label. That label should
face the exterior, and be oriented such that it can
be read when this assembly is installed onto the
deadfront supports.)
D. Secure the Provision Filler Plate (Item 13) to the
Cover Plate (Item 6) with a pair of Round Head
Screws (Item 15) and Locknuts (Item 16), one set
at each corner.
INSTALLING THE COVER PLATE:
(Refer to Figure 9)
E. Install the Cover Plate (Item 6) by aligning it
over the breaker mounting provision and loosely
secure it to the deadfront support rails with the four
1/4"-20 x 3/8" screws (Item 18).
F. Once all the covers are in place, tighten all the
fasteners to the torque specified on the rear of the
deadfront or noted in the table on page 2.
COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION:
G. Ensure that any bus or breaker hardware is
torqued as specified on the rear of the deadfront.
Then replace all the cover plates and gutter
covers. Finally, ensure any fillers are in place
BEFORE re-energizing the equipment.
