If the engine speed is too high or too low, you will
not be able to change gear using the steering
wheel paddle shifters. In this case, segments
will light up red in the driver's display.

Function of glide mode (Mercedes-AMG vehicles)
With an anticipatory driving style, Glide mode
helps you to reduce fuel consumption.
When you drive in Glide mode, the J symbol
will appear on the driver's display and the com-
bustion engine is switched off. All of the vehicle
functions remain active.
Glide mode will be activated if the following condi-
tions are met:
The ECO start/stop function is switched on.

Drive program = is selected with the drive
R

setting "Moderate" or "Reduced".
The speed is within a suitable range.
R
The road's course is suitable, e.g. no steep
R
uphill or downhill gradients or tight bends.
The state of charge of the battery is sufficient.

You are no longer depressing the accelerator
R
Driving

or brake pedal.
Glide mode will be deactivated again if one of the
conditions is no longer met.

side to side.
When there is a strong crosswind and a driving

speed of approximately 50 mph (80 km/h) to
125 mph (200 km/h).
