This model is a subwoofer designed to augment the bass response of a system. It should be used with
full range speakers that need additional low frequency output. It can reproduce the Low Frequency Effects
(LFE) channel in a home theater system. This model includes a switchable lowpass crossover network. In
the "Lowpass ON" switch setting, a crossover network with a 12dB/octave 80Hz lowpass filter is activated.
This setting should be used when the system receiver, preamplifier, or processor does not provide any
lowpass filtering to the channel driving the CT800SW. In the "Lowpass OFF" switch setting, the crossover
network is bypassed, providing a full range signal to the CT800SW speaker. That means the user must
use external lowpass filtering to properly integrate the subwoofer with the rest of the audio system. When
CT800SW is connected to the LFE channel of a home theater system, the audio/video receiver, pream-
plifier, or processor will provide the necessary lowpass filtering. It is recommended that the user set the
crossover frequency on the receiver LFE channel to 80Hz as a starting point. The LFE channel lowpass
crossover frequency can then be adjusted to provide optimum low frequency results by ear. If this model
is used in a two channel stereo music system, the "Lowpass ON" setting should be used to integrate the
subwoofer with the full range speakers.
Wall and Ceiling Thickness Considerations
All Contractor Theater In-Wall and In-Ceiling Series speakers will mount to walls and ceilings up to at least
1 1/2" thick depending on the orientation of the mounting wings. Use the following chart to determine the
orientation of the mounting wings necessary to be installed in the wall or ceiling in your application.

Determine the thickness of the wall you will be mounting the speakers in and use the chart to find which
mounting wing orientation will be necessary. If it is necessary to reverse the direction of the wings, reverse
the mounting screws all the way out of the wings. Then carefully pry the wings out of the tracks. Turn the
wings over, place them back in the tracks, and reinstall the mounting screws.
Tweeter Level Adjustment..
The output of the tweeter can be adjusted to compensate for speaker placement/listening positions that
are less than ideal. The 0dB position is designed to provide the smoothest frequency response on axis. If
the high frequency response is considered to be too strong or too weak, the tweeter level can be increased
(+3dB position) or decreased (-3dB) to suit the listener's preference.

Peinture des enceintes
Les enceintes MTX Contractor Theater encastrables au plafond et au mur ont été conçues pour recevoir
tout type de peinture intérieure ou extérieure. L'application au pistolet ou au rouleau donne en général
d'excellents résultats. Un écran permettant la protection lors de la peinture est fourni avec toutes les en-
ceintes MTX Contractor Theater. Avant de peindre les enceintes, retirer les toiles des grilles. Les remettre
en place dans les grilles une fois la peinture sèche.
Placement des enceintes
Les enceintes MTX Contractor Theater encastrables au plafond et au mur ont été conçues pour s'intégrer
à tout décor intérieur. Elles peuvent être installées pratiquement partout où un montage encastré est pos-
sible. Toutefois, certaines précautions doivent être prises pour optimiser leurs performances acoustiques.
Pour obtenir la meilleure reproduction stéréo, il faut placer les deux enceintes à égale distance de la posi-
tion d'écoute et les écarter de façon à former un angle de 40 à 60 degrés à partir de la position d'écoute.
