ESI ePhone8 Video Camera
User Guide
This guide shows how to install and use the ePhone8 video camera. Basic troubleshoot steps are also
listed at the end of this document.
The ePhone8 camera is a 2 Mega Pixel 1080p HD USB video camera that has an adjustable viewing
angle (ePhone8 video has a maximum VGA resolution of 640x480 at 30fps). The camera does not
require a software driver to function and draws power from the ePhone8 USB port. The camera features
a privacy shutter, which provides peace of mind when not in use.
Safety Precautions
Do not handle the device roughly. Rough handling can break internal components.
This device is design for indoor use only.
Do not install the device in places where there is direct sunlight.
Do not put the device on carpets or cushions, which can be a fire hazard.
Avoid exposure to extreme temperature and high humidity.
Avoid getting the device wet.
Do not attempt to open device. Non-expert handling of the device could damage it.
Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean device. Wipe device with a
soft cloth that has been lightly dampened.
Do not install this device in a poorly ventilated area.

    • Plug other end of USB cable into USB port on back of ePhone8. Adjust the camera gripper and place camera either on top of the ePhone8 or on the desk as shown in • image below.

    At power up, red is displayed briefly first, then orange. Video call The ePhone8 can be set up to automatically use video calling. From the ePhone8 GUI go to Phone Settings > Features. Set Default Answer Mode and Default Dial Mode to Video.

    Taking photos • On the ePhone8 Apps page, tap the Camera app icon to launch the camera app. Once the app is launched, swipe from left to right with your finger to show the Camera and Video icons on the left of the screen as shown below.
