Problem
The CK1 appears to be locked up and you
cannot enter data.

Problems Transmitting Data Through the Serial Port

If you are having problems sending or receiving data through the
integrated I/O port on the CK1, check these possible problems:
• Make sure the CK1 is connected to the PC, host computer,
or RS-232 serial device using the appropriate cable.
• If the CK1 is in a serial dock, make sure that the serial dock is
connected to the serial device using the appropriate cable.
• Make sure the CK1 serial port parameters are configured to
match the serial port configuration on the PC, host
computer, or serial device. For help, see "Configuring PPP
Communications" on page 61.

Chapter 6 — Troubleshooting and Maintaining the CK1
Solution
Try these possible solutions in order:
Scan a bar code label to see if the CK1
responds.
Press the p key to turn off the CK1. If it
turns off, press the p key to turn on the
CK1. You can continue working.
If the CK1 will not turn off, warm boot
the CK1. For help, see "Rebooting the
CK1" on page 98.
If the CK1 will not warm boot, cold boot
the CK1. For help, see "Rebooting the
CK1" on page 98.
If the CK1 will not cold boot, hard reset
the CK1. For help, see "Rebooting the
CK1" on page 98.
If none of these solutions works, contact
your local Intermec service representative
for help.
