Glossary
ThinkScribe Notepad Properties—The utility program that
customizes and synchronizes events and information on the
digital notepad:
• Change from Inking Mode to Graphics Tablet Mode
• Check information on the digital notepad
• Change the Inking Properties
• Change the Ink Files selector on the digital notepad
• Change the Actions selector on the digital notepad
Time stamp—The time and date the strokes of ink were
recorded. Every stroke of ink has a time stamp. The program uses
time stamps to help you fix overwritten ink and to help you detect
updated pages of ink.
To Do—A type of action you can assign to handwritten words,
typically items you want to remember "to do," such as action
items or assignments. To Do items appear in red, by default, on
the computer. You can view a list of your To Do items by selecting
To Do List on the navigation panel.
Toolbar buttons—Small icons or symbols in the Ink Manager
Pro window and the Ink Clipboard Viewer window. Click or touch
the buttons to initiate actions. Hold the mouse pointer over a
button to see the name of the button.
Transferring ink—The process of moving the image of your
handwritten ink to the computer screen that you can view using
Ink Manager Pro. See IBM Ink Transfer.
TransNote system—The system comprised of the ThinkPad
computer and the ThinkScribe digital notepad.
Two-tap method—A method of selecting ink on the digital
notepad when applying an action (by default, the Copy action).
After selecting the action, follow the prompts in the status display.
Using the pen, tap the top corner and the diagonal bottom corner
of the ink to select the ink.
Undo levels—The number of actions you can reverse. Set your
preferred number in File > Preferences > Display. For example, if
the Undo level is set to 5, you can undo the last 5 actions.
