Do not attempt to work on a powered APCQ capacitor bank. After switching off the power supply to the APCQ capacitor bank, always wait at least 5 minutes before working on the unit (i.e. time for the power capacitors to be discharged). Always verify by measurement that capacitors are dis- charged.

To disconnect the unit from the network, HITACHI ENERGY suggests preferably a circuit breaker. A 3-phase discon- necting fuse or a 3-phase switch with fuses may nevertheless be used. The circuit breaker should be chosen with a nominal current rating of minimum 1.5 times the rating of the APCQ ca- pacitor bank.
