transformer with an earth screen between

Mains Plug Replacement
(U.K. & Ireland Only)
If a new mains plug needs to be fitted:
• Safely dispose of the old plug.
• Connect the brown lead to the live terminal in the
plug.
• Connect the blue lead to the neutral terminal.
WARNING: No connection is to be made
to the earth terminal.
Follow the fitting instructions supplied with good
quality plugs. Recommended fuse: 13 A.

Using an Extension Cable

If an extension cable is required, use an approved
extension cable suitable for the power input of this
tool (see technical data). The minimum conductor size
is 1 mm
2
; the maximum length is 30 m.
When using a cable reel, always unwind the cable
completely.

Assembly and Adjustment

WARNING: Prior to assembly and
adjustment always unplug the tool.
Fitting and Removing Sockets
Your DW292 impact wrench uses a 1/2" square
drive system with detent pin.
Your DW294 impact wrench uses a 3/4" square
drive system with detent pin.
Fitting Sockets (fi g. B)
● Align the hole (6) in the side of the socket with
the detent pin (5) on the anvil.
● Push the socket (4) onto the anvil (3) until it
snaps into place. Tap it lightly if required.
Removing Sockets (fi g. C)
● Depress the detent pin (5) through the hole (6)
in the socket and pull the socket off the anvil.
Setting the Direction of Rotation (fi g. D)
● Select forward or reverse rotation using the
forward/reverse switch (2).
WARNING: Always wait until the motor
has come to a complete standstill
before changing the direction of
rotation.

Screwdriving or Nutsetting (fi g. A)
● Select the appropriate socket for the screw or
nut to be driven.
● Select forward or reverse rotation as described
above.
● Hold the tool in line with the fastener.
Proper Hand Position (fi g. A, E)
WARNING: To reduce the risk of
serious personal injury, ALWAYS use
proper hand position as shown.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of

securely in anticipation of a sudden
reaction.
Proper hand position requires one hand on the main
handle (8), as shown.
Switching On and Off (fi g. A)
● To run the tool, press the on/off switch (1).
● To stop the tool, release the switch.
