3. Signal detection of the P/U Infrared Iaser Pick-Up module Focusing Tracking Photo Diode 1) Focus Error Signal ==> (A+C)-(B+D) This signal is generated in DSP IC(IC101 : MT1959H) controls the pick-up's up and down to focus on Disc. 2) Tracking Error Signal (DPP Method) ==> {(A+D)-(B+C)}- k x {(EF )-(EF This signal is generated in DSP IC(IC101 : MT1959H) controls the pick-up's left and right shift to find to track on Disc.
DESCRIPTION OF CIRCUIT 1. ALPC (Automatic Laser Power Control) Circuit 1-1. Block Diagram IC101 (MT1959H) CN801 Optical Iapc Pick-up RDAC Vref Filter VDAC SDIO W1DAC SCLK 1-2. ALPC (Automatic Laser Power Control) Circuit ALPC function of IC101(MT1959H) is for the constant power control. Based on the FM(Front Monitor) in OPU, ALPC feedback loop maintains constant power level against laser diode’s temperature variation.

3-2-1. Tracking Servo The aim of tracking servo is to make laser beam trace the data track on disc. Tracking Error(TE) Signal is generated from tracking error detected block in MT1959H using DPP(Differential Push-Pull) Method and DPD (Differential Phase Detection) Method. DPP Method uses not only main beam(A, B, C, D) but also side beam(EF1~EF4) for correcting DC offset generated in Push-Pull Method.
