If the battery is not installed and the USB adapter is connected, the phone will not operate properly due to prolonged power cycling.     Removing the microSD card To safely remove the microSD card from your phone, first you need to unmount it. From the Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > General tab > Storage > Unmount SD card. Remove the battery cover and battery, then gently pull the microSD card from the slot.
