Recorder Overview

3.1 Front Panel

1. LED Indicators:
• POWER: Glows to indicate the system is on.
• HDD: Glows to indicate hard drive is operating properly. Turns off when there is a hard
drive error.
• NET: Glows to indicate the recorder is connected to the Internet for remote access and
automatic firmware updates. Turns off when there is no Internet access.
2. Channel Indicators: Glow when camera is connected to the corresponding channel.
3. Navigational Buttons:
• Center Button: From live view, press once to open the System Information screen. In
menus, press to confirm menu options.
• Directional Buttons: Press to move cursor in menus. In live view, press up to change
split screen layout; press left / right to select channels when single-channel mode is
selected.
4. Power Button: Press and hold to power off the system (system password required). Press to
power the system back on.
5. USB Port: Connect a USB mouse (included) to control the system, or a USB flash drive
(not included) for data backup or manual firmware updates.
6. esc: In menus, press to go back / exit menus. In playback, press to return to live view.
NOTE
To activate deterrence features manually:
Press and hold for 5 seconds. Warning lights and sirens will be activated for all connected deterrence cam-
eras. The camera warning light and siren will automatically switch off after 10 seconds.
7. fn: Performs special functions in some menus.
8. rec: Press to open manual recording controls.
9. shift: During text input, press to switch input types.
10. Playback Buttons:
Slow: Press to slow playback / decrease playback speed.
Fast: Press to speed up playback / increase playback speed.
Play Backwards: Press to play video backwards / pause video.
Play: Press to play video / pause video.
