Step 8.
To install the rear Wi-Fi antenna, use the same way as that of installing the front Wi-Fi antenna.
Refer to "Replacing the front Wi-Fi antenna" on page 49.

Replacing the thermal sensor

Note: For this procedure, it helps to lay the computer flat.
To replace the thermal sensor:
Step 1.
Remove any media from the drives, shut down the operating system, and turn off the computer and
all attached devices.
Step 2.
Unplug all power cords from electrical outlets.
Step 3.
Disconnect all cables attached to the computer. This includes power cords, input/output (I/O)
cables, and any other cables that are connected to the computer. Refer to Chapter 7 "Locating
connectors, controls and components" on page 21 to locate the various connectors.
Step 4.
Remove the left computer cover. Refer to "Removing the left computer cover" on page 30.
Step 5.
Remove the right computer cover. Refer to "Removing the right computer cover" on page 31.
Step 6.
Remove the front bezel. Refer to "Removing the front bezel" on page 33.
Step 7.
Disconnect the thermal sensor cable from the motherboard.
Step 8.
On the inside of the front chassis, squeeze the two retaining clips that secure the thermal sensor
and push the thermal sensor out of the chassis.
Step 9.
Install the new thermal sensor:
a.
Route the new thermal sensor cable through the hole and insert the corresponding retaining
clip on the thermal sensor into the same hole. Then, press the other retaining clip on the
thermal sensor into the other hole.
