3 Turn the zoom wheel to select the desired
length setting. The selected length setting is
shown on the front of the product.
- Short hair guard: select a length setting from
the silver color, ranging from 0.4mm (1/64 in.)
to 10mm (25/64 in.).
- Long hair guard: select a length setting from
the blue color, ranging from 10.4mm (13/32
in.) to 20mm (25/32 in.) (Fig. 14).
4 Turn on the product (Fig. 9).
5 Move the product slowly through the hair,
making sure the surface of the guard stays in
contact with the skin (Fig. 15).
- Regularly remove cut hairs from the guard. If
a lot of hairs have accumulated in the guard,
detach the guard from the product and blow
and/or shake the hairs out of it.
6 Turn off and clean the product after each use
(see 'Cleaning').
Tip: Write down the settings you have used to
create a certain hairstyle as a reminder for
future clipping sessions.
Cleaning
Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents
or aggressive liquids such as petrol or acetone to
clean the appliance.
Clean the product after each use.

Turn off the product and disconnect it from the
wall outlet.
2 Wipe the housing of the product with a dry
cloth.
3 Remove the comb (Fig. 11) and clean it with the
cleaning brush and/or rinse it under the tap
(Fig. 16).
4 Clean the cutting unit with the cleaning brush
and/or rinse it under the tap (Fig. 19).
5 Carefully shake off excess water and let the all
parts air dry completely.
Never dry the trimmer teeth with a towel or
tissue, as this may damage the trimmer teeth.
6 After cleaning, reattach the comb (Fig. 7) to the
product.

Turn off the product and disconnect it from the
wall outlet.
2 Remove the guard (Fig. 11).
3 Pull the cutting unit off the product (Fig. 18).
4 Clean the trimming head connector and hair
chamber with the cleaning brush and/or rinse
them under the tap (Fig. 20).
5 Clean the inside of the trimming head with the
cleaning brush and/or rinse it under the tap
(Fig. 17).
6 Carefully shake off excess water and let all parts
dry completely.
7 Press the trimming head back on the product.
Make sure the projection on the back of the
trimming head fits exactly onto the notch in the
hair chamber (Fig. 21).

Warranty restrictions
- Philips North America LLC (USA) and/or Philips
Electronics Ltd (Canada) warrants its products
for a period of two years after the date of
purchase. If any defect due to faulty materials
and workmanship occurs within this two-year
warranty period, Philips North America LLC
(USA) and/or Philips Electronics Ltd (Canada)
will repair or replace the product at its expense.
- Philips North America LLC (USA) and/or Philips
Electronics Ltd (Canada) will only pay for repair
or replacement if convincing proof is provided,
for instance by means of a receipt, that the day
on which service is claimed is within the
warranty period. Parts that are subject to wear
(such as cutting units and shaving heads) are
not covered by the terms of the international
warranty.
- The warranty is not valid if a defect is due to
damage caused by incorrect use, poor
maintenance (e.g. parts blocked by scale) or if
alterations or repairs have been carried out by
persons not authorized by Philips North
America LLC (USA) and/or Philips Electronics
Ltd (Canada).
- For the appliance to be used correctly, the user
should strictly adhere to all instructions
included in the user manual and should abstain
from any actions or uses that are described as
undesired or which are warned against in the
user manual.
- These warranty restrictions do not affect your
statutory rights.
