L Respond:
YES - The Programmer/Tester responds according to the type of
device being programmed. If the device type is not a TRI
device, the Programmer/Tester enters Step 9. TRI devices
enter Step 3.
NO - The Programmer/Tester displays the following message:
The Programmer/Tester then responds as follows:
1. If the device is capable of emulating (replacing) an older
device (Backward Compatibility), then the Programmer/
Tester enters Step 6.
2. If not, the Programmer/Tester enters Step 8.
C
- No effect.
0 - 9 - Directly modifies the device address to be programmed and
remains in Step 2.
NOTE: All addressing rules still apply.
STEP 3 — TRI DEVICES
The display shows one of the following:
ADDRESS: **
ALARM TRI?
(Where ** = the next logical address in sequence.)
NOTE: On the first entry to this step after power up, the first message
shown above is displayed. For all other entries, the Programmer/
Tester displays the TRI-type option selected for the device last
programmed.
L Respond:
YES - The Programmer/Tester enters Step 4.
NO - The Programmer/Tester rotates the three messages shown
above each time NO is pressed.
