Symptom
No transmission
connection to the BSC
(yellow or red LED on
transmission unit).
Transmission connection
works but there is a yellow
LED lit on the
transmission unit.
The device status report
in the BTS Manager
indicates that the BCCH
TRX and a slave TRX are
in the 'Supervisory' state,
but the yellow LED blinks
on both TRXs.

Troubleshooting checklist (Continued)
Possible fault
1. Abis cable not
connected or connected
incorrectly.
2. Abis cable broken.
3. Line interface broken.
4. Transmission unit
broken
No real time connection
from the network to the
transmission unit.
Objects are locked from
the BSC/NMS.
Action
1. Check that the cable is
connected on the
transmission unit and at
the BSC. Check that the
RX and TX cables are
connected to the correct
connectors.
2. Replace the cable.
3. Connect a jumper cable
from the TX connector of
each transmission
interface to its RX
connector. If the green
LED is lit the line interface
is OK. Otherwise, change
the transmission unit.
4. Replace the
transmission unit.
Establish the BSC
connection.
Request the state from the
BSC/NMS. Request an
unlock from the BSC/NMS
if necessary.
