• Do not touch the pins on the microprocessor socket or the gold contacts on the microprocessor.
For access, do the following:
1. Remove these FRUs in order, if any:
• "Computer cover" on page 53
• "Optical drive" on page 54
• "Front bezel" on page 56
• "Primary storage drives" on page 57
• "PCI-Express card" on page 61
• "Graphics card" on page 62
• "M.2 solid-state drive and heat sink" on page 66
• "Optical drive cage" on page 72
• "Front fan" on page 85
• "Rear fan" on page 86
• "Heat sink and fan assembly" on page 87
• "Chassis beam" on page 91
• "Memory module" on page 93
• "Coin-cell battery" on page 94
• "E-lock" on page 96
• "Front I/O bracket, power button cable, and card reader" on page 97
• "Internal speaker" on page 99
• "Wi-Fi card" on page 100
• "Cover presence switch cable and bracket" on page 105
• "Microprocessor" on page 106
2. Record the cable routing and cable connections, and then disconnect all cables from the system board.

Replacement procedure
1. Remove the nine screws that secure the system board, and then carefully lift the system board out of the
chassis.
Notes:
• The numbers in the following figure show the locations of the screws instead of the removing and
reinstalling order of the screws.
• Carefully handle the system board by its edges.
