Troubleshooting Guide
MD/External disc control mode
PROBLEM
The MD cannot be inserted.
The MD does not load.
The MD loads but soon comes
out again.
The sound skips.
There is noise during playback.
A track will not play.

be selected.
The specified disc does not
play, but another one plays
instead.
The sound skips.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
There is already an MD loaded.
The insertion orientation of the MD is incorrect or the MD
is upside down.
Nothing is recorded on the MD.
The mounting angle exceeds 30°.
The mounting is unstable.
The MD is soiled with dust or dirt.
Random play has been selected.
No wire has been connected to the disc changer input
terminal on the unit.
The specified CD is quite dirty.
The CD is upside-down.
The disc is loaded in a different slot from that specified.
The disc is severely scratched.
Something is touching the disc changer.
The CD is scratched or dirty.
Eject the currently loaded MD and then load the new
one.
Insert the MD in the proper orientation.
Switch the MD for one that is recorded.
Adjust to an angle of less than 30°.
Anchor the unit securely. When the sound skips at the
same portion even when the car is stopped, the problem
lies with the MD.
If another MD is played back and there is no problem, then
the problem is due to the sound quality of the MD itself.
Turn off random play.
Connect the wire to the disc changer input terminal on
the unit.
Clean the CD.
Load the CD with the labeled side up.
Eject the disc magazine and check the number for the
specified disc.
Try another disc instead.
Remove whatever is touching it.
If skipping happens at the same place when the car is
stopped, something with the CD is wrong. Clean the
CD.
