Review of Network Configuration

The MPCS renewal adds the MIU-DS between the TOSDIC-243D and the MPCS. The MPCS
side consists of existing the MC buses. The HMI side (the TOSDIC-243D replaced by the
OIS-DS) consists of 10Mbps Ethernet with twisted-pair cables and the HUB, which is the most
basic configuration. The descriptions up the previous section are based on this configuration.
Others include the MIU-DS Ethernet, which provides various connection specifications. The
transmission speed (10Mbps/100Mbps), the transmission path (transmission cables: twisted
cable, coaxial cable, optical cable; transmission path articles: transceiver, hub) can be selected to
construct a system suited to the purpose in accordance with the requirements of the network.
Even in the case of integrating the above as a CIEMAC-DS system, it is possible to connect the
MPCS to all the CIEMAC-DS types of the Ethernet via the MIU-DS.

Renewal Method

An example of connecting (based on twisted-pair hub) the Ethernet is shown in the following
diagram.
